What I am loving right now

1) Pitas & hummus. Yummmmm

2) Good books--I have been on a reading kick and have finished three books in the past week and a half. (A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness, Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand & Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson)

3) My iPad--To read above books on and keep my sick toddler occupied when he is not whining about being sick.

4) Beautiful Weather--Living in the desert, while hot in the summer, has absolutely beautiful weather in the spring. And right now the weather is just about perfect. 80 degrees everyday and nice and cool in the mornings.

5) American Idol--O.M.G. do I love the new judges. It is like the show is new all over again.

6) Twitter--I am completely addicted and I love all of the funny that I find on there. It can seriously brighten my day when things are completely sucking.

7) Restaurants that get "it"--I love going out to eat at a kid friendly restaurant that has something to keep my kiddo occupied so that the experience is relaxing for everyone involved. (I love you Oregano's!)

Randomness. Lots of it.

Every now and then a good friend and fellow blogger Melissa posts little bits about herself on her blog. I always love getting these insights into her life and who she is and I mean to write one myself. She did another one yesterday and inspired me to do the same...

soooo....here are 10 random things about me!

1) I am addicted to just about anything that Joss Whedon does. Buffy, Firefly, Angel, Dr. Horrible...all of it. He rocks.

2) I am a nerd. And I don't care who thinks that about me. I am who I am and I'm damn proud of it.

3) I love, love, love to bake. And cook. I just love being in the kitchen and creating yummy things to eat. It's also why I'm chubby.

4) I drive a VW. It's the third one my husband and I have owned together. Yet another addiction of mine. I can't imagine not driving one.

5) I love orange juice and orange flavored things, but I hate to eat oranges. They are gross and the texture of them makes me want to vomit.

6) I think that I am the only person that lives in the desert that hates the rain. I think that it smells like wet dog when it rains. Ewwww.

7) I am very opinionated when it comes to politics, but I hate to talk to people about politics. It just makes me angry, so I keep my thoughts to myself. But know that I am screaming at you on the inside while I am smiling and nodding.

8) I love to read. While I usually read heavier, meatier books I do enjoy a good romance novel every now and then and I have a secret stash of Nora Roberts novels.

9) I put makeup on everyday...even if I don't plan on leaving the house. I feel naked without it.

10) I take long showers everyday. Ones that last at least 15 minutes. It's my quiet time and I love it.

Yet Another List

So, as you can probably tell from previous posts, I like making lists. I make lists for everything. And, I mean EVERYTHING. I start my day with a to do list, I make a cleaning list each weekend, I make lists for goals, I make lists for groceries, I make wish lists, you name it, I have probably made a list about it.

Today, I starting thinking about what my favorite children's movies of all time were and I came up with, yep, you guessed it, another list. While, this list may not be all inclusive, 'cause baby I LOVE movies, it is a listing of some of my most favorite and most cherished movies from my childhood (and beyond).

Each and every one of these movies has a memory attached to it. I love each of them for different reasons. Some just because they are classic (Wizard of Oz & Mary Poppins), some because they are great fairy tales written just for little girls (Beauty & The Beast & The Little Mermaid), some for the fun stories (The Goonies & The Neverending Story), some because they are a little weird and explain a lot about my weirdness (The Last Unicorn, The Phantom Tollbooth), some that I have come to love through watching with my son (The Incredibles & Toy Story) and some are just amazing all time favorites (The Princess Bride & Willy Wonka). But no matter what the reason, I love them!
